Work History

Mala is a qualified chartered accountant, and has been working in Finance and Accounting since 2007, when she interned at Price Waterhouse before moving into their Graduate Associate program.

She has been an Accounts & Administration Officer for a consulting business, Company Accountant for a research Institute, a Senior Auditor with a global accounting firm, and an Internal Auditor at a major government enterprise.  As a result, she has had exposure during her career to wide range of industries – start-up technology, mail and logistics, food manufacturing, winery, technology development – fibre optic cable infrastructure build, wholesale, retail, incorporated societies, charities, sports clubs, early childhood education, arts, and industry research.

She joined McCabes in 2020 from private practice as an Audit Manager, where she was responsible for auditing public sector and private sector industries, Incorporated Societies, charities – individual and group entities, body corporate, trust accounts, escrow Accounts, start-up businesses and organisations.

She brings experience and proficiency with a wide range of accounting and administrative packages and tools including MYOB, Xero, Quickbooks, Agresso  and Navison, and is currently transitioning McCabes onto a cloud-based accounting system. 

Mala’s personal interests include spending time with family and friends, watching movies, gardening, cooking/baking, Muay Thai Kick Boxing, Gym Training, and property investment
